The Marketing Arm wins Bill Veeck Sports Sponsorship Award
Feb 9, 2007
A marketing program developed by Dallas-based The Marketing Arm for AT&T has won a Bill Veeck Sports Sponsorship Award. The annual awards are presented by the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University.
A panel of judges with backgrounds in sports marketing evaluates each entry for creativity, activation, measurement and effectiveness.
The Marketing Arm developed a season-long activation campaign for AT&T’s sponsorship of the San Francisco Giants that encompassed a variety of programs.
“We set the bar high to recognize truly outstanding sponsorship relationships,” said Brett Boyle, Ph.D., an associate professor of marketing and coordinator of the Bill Veeck Sports Sponsorship Awards. “Sports marketing has gone way beyond simply putting a brand name on a piece of property. Those doing sponsorship right know that the brand has to be involved in the fan experience in a positive way.”
The award is named after Hall of Fame baseball owner Bill Veeck, who is best known for his unusual promotion of America’s favorite pastime. For more information, visit http://www.billveeckawards.com.
